SURVEY MEASURES PERCEPTIONS ABOUT DOWNTOWN ST. CLOUD
On the heels of the well-attended St. Cloud Downtown Summit last week comes this reminder that the Chamber’s Downtown Alliance invites you to take an online survey before Dec. 31, anonymously or by including your name.
Consisting of 10 questions that simply require a click, plus three open-ended ones about downtown strengths, areas for improvement and your vision for downtown in 2030, this St. Cloud Downtown Perception Survey is a great way to quickly share your thoughts.
LAST-MINUTE GIFT IDEA: ST. CLOUD SHINES T-SHIRTS!
The GSDC’s expansive marketing campaign highlighting all that’s great about our area has expanded from social media and online exposure to apparel! Coborn’s is helping spread the word by selling colorful St. Cloud Shines baseball style t-shirts in its stores.
For just $15.99 each, they make a great gift (even for yourself). They are co-branded by our sponsoring partner, Microbiologics. Proceeds from sales go to the GSDC to reinvest in efforts to further promote the greatness of our region.
Thank you, Coborn’s and Microbiologics for partnering with us on this fun endeavor!
APOLLO HIGH’S MANUFACTURING PROGRAM FEATURED IN MAGAZINE
The latest issue of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers’ magazine, called Manufacturing Engineering, includes a lengthy article about a successful program at Apollo High School.
Students will be the first to tell you they learn best with hands-on experimentation. Through partnerships with a handful of local manufacturing companies, SME Prime and District 742 have brought state-of-the-art equipment to Apollo High School to enable students to gain a deeper understanding of the wide array of careers available to them.
The GSDC helped engage several organizations – including Park Industries, Grede LLC, International Precision Machining, C4 Welding, and CWMF Corporation – to provide funding for this important project. Thank you all.
WE MIGHT ALL BENEFIT FROM SOME REVERSE MENTORSHIP!
Many of us have had mentors or been mentors, almost always with the experienced executive passing along wisdom to the younger person. But a technique that gained steam during the pandemic era, called reverse mentorship, has turned top-down mentoring upside down.
Our younger employees could probably teach us a thing or two about everything from consumer desires to Tik Tok and more. We came across this great article about the topic.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM YOUR GSDC STAFF!
Our next Developing News won’t arrive in your inbox until Jan. 3, so we’ll end this edition with a sincere thank you for your support and friendship during 2022. From all of us in the GSDC office – Gail, Leslie, Tammy, and Patti – Happy Holidays!
