GRAND OPENING OF SCTCC’S ADVANCED MANUFACTURING CENTER IS SEPT. 27
A year shy of its groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 5, 2022, St. Cloud Technical and Community College (SCTCC) will celebrate the grand opening of its Advanced Manufacturing Center next Wednesday, Sept. 27. GSDC investors and others are invited to the 1:00 p.m. ceremony in Northway 1-316B.
The 8,000 square foot facility allows SCTCC to increase capacity from 24 to 48 manufacturing students. The modern lab is available to students new to the manufacturing industry, as well as those currently in the workforce who need updated, customized training.

ST. CLOUD AREA QUARTERLY BUSINESS REPORT PRESENTATION IS SEPT. 28
The latest St. Cloud Area Quarter Business Report will be presented from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. next Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Holiday Inn & Suites – Huskies Room, 75 37th Ave. S., St. Cloud. There’s no cost to attend, but register here.
Since 1999, the QBR has given local business leaders information on what their fellow leaders think and feel about the local economy.
The Sept. 28 presentation will be led by the QBR’s authors, King Banaian, Interim Dean, College of Education & Learning Design and Mana Komai Molle, Chair, SCSU Dept. of Economics.

Not that long ago, “TED Talks” and “TEDx” were new concepts to many of us, but those terms quickly became synonymous with big thinking and innovative doing. Now, our own TEDxStCloud has become an annual, must-attend gathering to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group setting.
This year’s event is Thursday, Oct. 13, beginning with a 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. reception at the Regency before moving across the street to the Paramount Theatre for the program led by six outstanding speakers.
